Newsletter September 2003 Well there’s only 4 months left for 2003. The year has flown (again) and I’m currently behind schedule (again). However, it has been hectic with the Nationals and Dream Tour now both behind me. Enquiries are the busiest ever and there seems to be lots more projects underway than previously and from right around the country. We hope to get to some interstate Swaps when the weather improves, and our next shipment will arrive in time for Bendigo Swap in mid November. A week later the Ballarat Rod Run will kick off and our club is again hosting the Vic State Rod Run next Easter, so have to finish some of my own projects by then. We have some exciting new products and are also on the verge of a big international deal which will add to our already comprehensive stock range. Great Aussie Dream Tour 2003 I have just returned from a 4 week flying visit taking in the LA Roadster Show and Swap, Cruise Nights, Wrecking Yards, Goodguys Nostalgia Drags and Long Beach Swap. Took a long time to find some stock at fair prices but eventually located it and will have most of it home before Christmas (refer attached and website for details). Prices keep going up and when you finally get far enough away from California prices, the freight costs ruin the deals. Anyway, it’s all an adventure and work is not meant to be easy, is it? Video I have just finished editing some highlights onto a 3 hour tape and will again offer them for $25 including postage. New Product --- V8 Quickchange Centre sections Old Tin has secured the exclusive agency for the new V8 Quickchange Centre section being made in New Zealand. Following on from their successful A Model Quickie, they have just released the long awaited V8 version. Pricing is being finalised for a limited introductory release, so if you are interested contact me for more information. The A Model version will continue to be produced, however demand for the V8 will probably take up most of their time, so you need to plan your purchase in advance. Hot Rod Pickups Customer cars will be finished shortly and our new V6 powered Roadster Pickup will be on the road in October. We are also hoping to debut our special 75th Anniversary model in November. We are then planning to put some closed cars together and present them as budget driveaway models as well. Neck Ties We still have some stock of the new Car Hop scene ties and if you still have to wear one, then wear this one. Events We are planning our start to the season now, with most of November booked out with Mildura (late October), John’s Picnic, Bright, Bendigo Swap and Ballarat Rod Run all on the agenda. Stock Clearance ************************************************************************************* Special -30 Victoria Body - USA import, it is a solid body with no floor subframe at all (they were wood). Some trims missing and some shotgun damage to the passenger door, but otherwise only minor rust and dents and some bullet holes to fix. Would make a nice steel classy car for someone. Only - $7500We can supply chassis, guards etc to make more complete if needed for a special package deal. ************************************************************************************* Another Special -29 Cabriolet Body - USA import, this was stored away for many years after dismantling and comes with a lot of original wood for patterns if needed. No folding irons came with it and the quarters have been roughly repaired at some stage, but the doors, cowl and bootlid are fair to good. I was keeping this one for myself but have some other plans now, and need to move some things. Late News (again) ************************* Just re-released, we have a cheap Roadster Rear kit in fibreglass consisting of both quarters, top and bottom panel and bootlid inner and outer. Unassembled, and recommended for primered cars or race cars only. A cheap way to make a body. Requires work to get nice, but it is cheap $660 all up. A mate in Sydney has to clear some stock (still) and has a real nice 30 Running Chassis for sale for $4000 and my old unrestored complete 29 Bakers Van for $4000 ono. Contact me for more info. Also a 1940 ex army Dodge Pickup (not ute) still all original, some rust and motor stuck but rolls and has nearly everything still on it. Ugly but would look nice done up asking $3000 **************************************************************************
